Frequently Asked Questions About Online Masters in UAE
Who awards my online master’s degree?
The partner university named on the programme page awards your degree. BIA supports your admissions and does not award degrees.
Can I study an online master’s degree while working full-time in the UAE?
Yes, that is what most of our programmes are designed for. You study online or by distance learning, usually part-time. The awarding university sets the weekly study hours and any required attendance, and we confirm these with you before you apply.
What is the difference between online and distance learning?
Online study means you learn through the university’s digital platform, often with live or recorded sessions. Distance learning means you study away from campus using the university’s materials. Many programmes are both. Each programme page states its exact delivery mode.
How long does an online master’s degree take?
The duration is set by each awarding university and depends on the programme and your study mode.
Is an online master’s degree recognised in the UAE?
It depends on the awarding university, the programme, how it is delivered and who is assessing it. In the UAE, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research decides certificate equivalency. BIA cannot confirm recognition on any authority’s behalf.
What is the difference between an online MBA and other master’s degrees?
An online MBA focuses on general business leadership and usually asks for management experience. Other master’s degrees, such as an MSc, MA, MEd or LLM, focus on one subject in depth.
