BBA in Finance

With a BBA in Finance (Top-Up), learners will develop his or her ability to make informed investment predictions, and accurately forecast future fiscal conditions. He or she will acquire practical knowledge of various mechanisms of the financial industry. This specialisation will give the learner meaningful insights and understandings on topics such as commercial bank management, international finance and trade, commercial investment and risk mitigation and management.

BBA in Finance Entry Requirements

  • Applicants should have minimum HND Level 5 or equivalent / or Higher Diploma / or Advanced Diploma / or Associate Degree/ or anything equivalent to Year 1 and Year 2 (university level study) in the field of Business and/or Management, or area of study that matches their BBA Top-up specialization
  • Applicants should be proficient in the English language
  • Applicants should possess a high level of motivation and self-discipline
  • Applicants should possess basic smartphone or computer operating knowledge and skills

Mature Entry Route (done on case-by-case evaluation basis only):

  • Applicants without any prior tertiary education and qualification should possess at least 6 years of professional working experience in the field of Business, Management, or related areas of work

U.S. & Canada Equivalency

CERTIFIED COURSE-BY-COURSE FOREIGN ACADEMIC EVALUATION (U.S. & CANADA EQUIVALENCY):

EIU’s Degree programmes have been reviewed and evaluated against U.S. and Canadian standards and are certified to be equivalent to degrees conferred by Regionally Accredited Universities in the United States and Canada.

This means that the EIU Degree programmes meet full or partial requirements for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) promulgated by the United States Dept. of Homeland Security. Additionally, the EIU Degree programmes also meet requirements for continuing education and/or employment in the U.S. and Canada.

This evaluation is done following guidelines set by AACROA evaluation guidelines, as well as, based on best practices promulgated by The Association for International Credential Evaluation Professionals (TAICEP), the National Association of Graduate Admissions Professionals (NAGAP), The European Association for International Education (EAIE), and the Association of International Educators (NAFSA).

  2. FIN320 Budgeting (7.5ECTS)
    This module helps learners to understand the budgeting processes of preparing, prioritising and itemising revenues for a given period of time.
  3. FIN330 International Finance (7.5ECTS)
    This module explores global finance and economics including foreign exchange markets, international financial markets, currency derivatives, and international risk management and also examines monetary transactions that occur between two or more countries.
  4. FIN340 Application of Fin-tech for Financial Services (7.5ECTS)
    This module explores modern technology in the financial world and what applications are needed to create, track, update and audit financial records and financial transactions.
  5. FIN350 Financial Markets and Institutions (7.5ECTS)
    This module explores topics such as central banks and financial intuitions, retail and commercial banks, brokerage firms, and insurance companies.
  6. FIN360 Financial Risk Mitigation Management (7.5ECTS)
    This module looks at the planning, controlling, and execution of risk mitigation policies that will help a person make better sound financial decisions. It explores the strategies of risk mitigation in the financial service industry.
  7. FIN370 Corporate Finance (7.5ECTS)
    In this module, learners will learn about the sources of funding for capital structures and begin to understand what actions a finance manager takes in order to increase a corporation’s value for its shareholders.
  8. FIN380 Finance Capstone Project (7.5ECTS)
    This module will allow the learner to demonstrate his/her knowledge of both theories and the understanding of practical applications in the business world. By completing the Capstone Project, learners will demonstrate their abilities to apply the necessary theories in real-world applications.
